Long Time no Blog!

It's been a long time since I've blogged. I can feel it because it's been awhile since I've read my Bible too. It's amazing how that works, isn't it? It's been about 10-12 days since and I am finding myself falling "off the wagon". It's a little hard to hear God speaking, yet a little easier to hear the other voices. The Justification Voices.

You know what I'm talking about. The voices that say, you can do "______" just this once, it won't matter. So then you do "______" and it doesn't really matter. You don't really feel any different. You go about your day and you think you're movin' right along and put off reading your Bible. Then you start feeling a little blue. Then you find yourself feeling a little tired. Then you find that you become a little frustrated over things that are not normally things that cause you frustration. You're feeling a little off. People start asking you how you're doing but you can tell that they're looking at you a little different, or maybe it's just your "guilty conscience".

You're just going about your days and working and living like you do and then BAM!!! You start thinking thoughts that you haven't thought about in a long time. Then you start feeling things you haven't felt in a long time. You're not sure what's different! It's sort of mind-boggling!!! Next thing you know it's Sunday! For the first time in about a year you're not really looking forward to going to church. You even have a sick feeling, as if you really shouldn't go to church. Maybe, just maybe, you should skip today. But.... you can't! You have a commitment to your church and you can't let them down! So, reluctantly you go!

You go to church and you know that you're not being the fully devoted follower that you have strived to be so you're a little embarrassed that you're there. However, no one there knows what you've been up to and then worship begins and you're reminded that God loves you. He loves you so much that he gave His only Son for your sin!

God is soooo marvelous because He knows that you're going to sin. He knew this before Christ because His people gave sacrifices. Then He sent His son, Jesus, and obediently Christ died for our sins. He was pierced for our transgressions!

Isaiah 53: 4-6 (KJV)
"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

God had a plan. He knew that the world would need a Savior. He gave us Jesus. If we believe this to be true and ask Jesus to be the ruler of our lives he will. He will do all he can, we just need to be obedient! If we falter there is forgiveness. We need to cry out and ask for forgiveness and repent of those sins.
